캐나다 최초의 수도였던 Kingston.
토론토에서 동쪽으로 3시간 떨어진 곳에 위치한 킹스턴의 여름은 축제로 가득하다.
올해로 25주년을 맞이하는 Kingston Buskers 는 킹스턴 여름 최고의 축제중 하나로 손꼽힌다.
뜨거운 7월의 태양 아래 예술가들의 스릴 넘치는 아찔한 공연을 눈 앞에서 보는 즐거움은 상당하다.
해마다 실력있는 예술가들이 4일동안 길거리에서 펼치는 예술의 무대.
공연이 끝나면 관객들은 아낌없는 박수와 함께 예술가의 모자, 기타 케이스에 원하는만큼 동전을 넣는다.
이런 멋진 공연을 비싼 입장료도 내지않고 볼 수 있다는 것이 미안해질 정도.
가장 많은 박수갈채를 받았던 쇼.
그녀를 보면서 계속 머릿속에 떠오르는 한사람이 있었다.
1954년도 이탈리아 영화, 길 (La Strada)에서의 젤소미나.
관객들과 함께하며 그 무더위에 멋진 공연과 미소를 잃지않는 그 모습에 짠하기까지했었다.
올해는 킹스턴 버스커 공연이 25주년을 맞아 더욱 성대하고 화려하게 열릴 예정.
7월 11일부터 14일까지 펼쳐질 킹스턴의 여름 이벤트, 25th Annual Kingston Buskers Rendezvous의 공연 스케줄은 다음과 같다.
- Princess Street Performances (Bagot St – Wellington St)
공연시간 : 목, 금, 토요일 오후 1시부터 3시까지
- Ontario Street Performances & Springer Market Square (시청뒤 광장)
공연시간 : 목요일, 금요일 오후 6시부터 11시까지
토요일 : 오후 3시부터 10시까지 (Ontario St)
일요일: 오전 11시부터 오후 6시까지 (Ontario St only)
- Busker Play St Andrew’s Church Lawn (Corner of Princess and Clergy St)
세인트 앤드류 교회 잔디밭
공연시간 : 목요일에서 토요일까지 오전 11시부터 오후 1시까지
Three days of fun, especially for the kids – clowns, jugglers, music, theatre and so much more!
*The Rocking Horse Workshop Children’s Tent
Just look for the big white tent in Confederation Park and that’s where you’ll find three full days worth of wildly entertaining children’s performers, programming, and workshops, suitable for kids of all ages!

A red-hot display of burnin’ Busker talent, featuring the best of the Buskers who are highly skilled in the art of fire performance. This show is not to be missed!
